Through observation, the researchers also found that NAD+ can promote the entry of the antioxidant pathway Nrf2 into the nucleus, suggesting that NAD+ regulates the expression of antioxidant-related genes by promoting Nrf2 expression and nuclear translocation, which can help reduce lung oxidative damage.
